Do you like my new sunglasses?

I like them a lot. They are my souvenir from Beirut. They're Prada. Not that I really care about the brand. I just like how they look.

Fancyyyyy

Well, I hope you like them too because they are going to be my last nice, new thing for a while.

I wanted to have a different narrative to tell you guys about my job situation. I had a totally different blog written about it and everything! Good thing I held off on sharing it.

Before I left for my trip, I had three interviews for a job that fell into my lap. It was a perfect fit, for a prestigious company and the people I interviewed with were all great. I was really looking forward to working with them.

I had hoped to find out before I left for my trip whether or not I was getting the position so that, as I told the recruiter, I would know to either be frugal or could be prodigal on my vacation.

(If you don't know what prodigal actually means, which I have found most people don't, click the link. It is a good word.)

Just as I was about to board my plane to Doha I got the word from the recruiter, "You can be prodigal!"

It was such great timing. I was really happy.

Thus, the sunglasses.

Alas, after I got back, it fell through. I am not really sure what happened. I guess it just wasn't meant to be.

Thank goodness I was mostly frugal on the trip, aside from the sunglasses, because I just wanted to be cautious before starting the job.

Even though it didn't work out, I am grateful because I was able to enjoy my trip with peace of mind that I had a job to come back to instead of spending my vacation worrying.

I was messaging with this guy on Instagram the day before I got word that the job wasn't happening. He had shared with me a saying that he likes. It took me a minute to get it but it is really good:

Fear knocked at the door. Faith answered and no one was there.

Think about it for a second.

It's good right?

Comforting. Good timing.

So yeah, back to being frugal until I get something new. And faith that everything happens for a reason and that something better for me is out there.

Also, this means I can go back to Plan A which is focus on my book and my blog for the summer.

Also, Lebanon was great. I can't wait to tell you all about it.
